Rocky Mountains in Alberta

I had to deliver a message to a native band in camp. Camp is located near the Rocky Mountains in Alberta, Canada; central Alberta to be more precise. The message was accepted on good terms by the local Elder and I listened to him for a while. He served us coffee and we allowed to smoke cigarettes in his log cabin. The knowledge he shared made me really think about the world we live in today.

The road up was covered in ice. We went up the Elk River road again and the oilfield and forestry trucks weight made it a ice rink. We had to go slow all the way. I never lost it driving so that’s good. It was stressful from the start but I had to stay focused on the objective. The weather was cold because we were in the mountains. I had some lunch, cigarettes and hot coffee so I was good.

Me and my second driver made it back to the rez late in the evening and I tell you I was glad to be home. Here are some pictures. The trip was made in November 2017. About two weeks ago from today.
