Abraham Lake During Winter

I finally went out to Abraham Lake in Alberta, Canada. It has been a few months due to the cold weather. I have bought a used Olympus OMD EM10 camera with 16 megapixels for clarity. I also was having some fun with the Zuicko 15 mm lens, the fish eye picture with the blurry background. I also stopped in Rocky Mountain House, Alberta, a few weeks ago and took a picture with my Olympus PEN EPL1 camera with 12.3 megapixels. I was using 40-150 mm Zuicko lens with that picture. When I went out January 26, 2020, there were a few people enjoying the weather and taking pictures of the lake bubbles which are produced by methane at the lake’s bottom.

Abraham Lake in January

I went to Abraham Lake near Nordegg, Alberta, Canada, in January. This is the first time I’ve been there in the Winter. Usually I go in the Summer so this was different. The roads were good but it was cold. There were a few people out at the lake. I have to commend these people for being out here in the middle of nowhere. This is not a place where you want your vehicle to break down.

Abraham lake has these methane bubbles that come up from the bottom The bubbles get frozen one on top of the other which makes it look amazing. I guess you can call them frozen bubbles.

This area where I went to take pictures is near an Indian reservation. The people who live there are called the Kiska Waptan-Wesley First Nation. There is a store and gas station there. It’s a small community but I thought I would mention it here.

Road to Saskatchewan Crossing. The road goes south from here. Kootney Plains is over that hill.
The moon was coming out just as I was having some food. I grabbed my Olympus EPL1 camera and took this.
That’s the David Thompson Highway 11.
