About

This is my WordPress website. My name is Guide. I am a communications technician. I am a Plains Cree Indian from Alberta, Canada. I have a BA from the University of Calgary in Political Science and a Core Network + certificate from the Northern Alberta Institute of Alberta (NAIT).  I live in both worlds trying to bridge the gap for a better society. I am a traditional person who lives in the modern world which is changing rapidly every day. I thank my Mom for helping me get my education.

I am a status Indian and I am on the general list. My Mom had her Treaty status taken away from her from Canada’s Indian Act. Lena Small is and always will be a Treaty Indian and her ancestor is Kis-Kai-You (Bobtail) who signed the adhesion to Treaty 6 in 1876 near  Calgary, Alberta.

Graduation 2005 at the University of Calgary with the late Lena Helen Small and her son Ben Fleury to the right. I am on the left with the sunglasses on.
Book by the late Nellie Carlson, Kathleen Steinhauer

Read the above book by the late Nellie Carlson and Kathleen Steinhauer to understand what bill c 31 is in Canada. I did and I am glad someone wrote about it.

My Mom was a Treaty Indian when this picture was taken. Lawyers, Canada’s Indian Act and men took it from her because of money. She survived the residential school only to have her Treaty status stolen from her.
